<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a window by omitting a scroll operation by arranging much more icons inside the window. CONSTITUTION:A display part 10 performs display while obliquely arranging the icons with the window on the screen. A pointing device part 12 designates the starting position of icon display within the window according to the operation of a user. The display part 10 controls the display according to the output of the pointing device part 12. A display control part 14 is provided with an arranging direction selecting means 16 for selecting from oblique four directions with the direction for letting a distance from the starting position to the frame of the window longest from previously set, a leading string position deciding means 18 for successively deciding the leading positions of icon strings at prescribed intervals with the starting position as an origin in a wider area between both areas provided by dividing the window with a straight line passing through the starting position inclined to the selected direction, and icon display control means 20 for controlling the icon display with the icons arranged from the leading position in the selected direction while transferring the leading position in the decided order.</p> |
