PURPOSE:To keep image quality stable and to improve the lives of functional parts such as an image carrier, etc., by constantly keeping the position of a process cartridge accurate. CONSTITUTION:In an image forming device in which the process cartridge U having the image carrier 8 and at least one process means 11 and 13 acting on the image carrier 8 is attachable/detachable, and which is provided with a rotary supporting shaft 20 driving and rotating the image carrier 8; engaging means 20a and 18a1 for rotating the image carrier 8 integrally with the rotary supporting shaft 20 are provided, and further rolling bearings 21a and 21b are used as a positioning and bearing member for the supporting shaft 20 of the process cartridge U. Thus, the abrasion of the bearing caused by endurance is reduced and the position of the cartridge U is constantly kept accurate, as a result, the image quality is maintained to be stable and the lives of the functional parts such as the image carrier 8 are improved. |
