Central locking system for private cars or other road vehicles

The two front doors and two rear doors are secured by conventional locks wired into a central system with a two-channel receiver responsive to the portable IR transmitter.Each door is also fitted with a bolt (9) driven by an actuator (19) into a latch (20) on the adjacent bodywork, or retracted from the latch when opening. The actuators of all such bolts are controllable by a separate receiver (not shown here) concealed e.g. behind the windscreen, but accessible to the portable IR transmitter.
