The process of mining waste benches with a safety platform is carried out so that the horizontal mined bench (H), mined by mining mechanisms, is vertically separated into two component benches (h1, h2) with angles of slope (α1, α2). First the upper component bench is mined (h1), then the mining mechanism shifts from the slope by the width (a) of the safety platform and, subsequently, the lower component bench (h2) is mined. In place of the indistinctive benched up slope a slope divided into distinct safety platforms is created with a more suitable general inclination (α).<IMAGE>
