PURPOSE: To provide a connecting device for an automatic tool replacing device having an extremely large connecting (lock) force and hardly causes malfunction even when it is operated with a large tool mounted. CONSTITUTION: This connecting device is provided with a cam 15 having an engagement portion 15a that is provided for a unit 2, rotates around a rotation axis, and is formed on a curved surface, a cylinder 17 oscillatingly mounted to the unit 2 for smoothly driving the cam 15, and an engagement pin 46 that is provided for another unit 3 and allows engagement of the engagement portion 15a of the cam 15 in a state that its contact surfaces abut to both units 2, 3. The distance of the engagement portion 15a of the cam 15 from the rotation axis is equal to the distance of a contact point between the engagement pin 46 and the cam 15 in a state of the contact surfaces of the both units 2, 3 abutting to each other. |
