PURPOSE:To prevent each sheet from being obliquely fed by surely controlling the width direction of each sheet to be fed. CONSTITUTION:When paper sheets P piled up over a pressure plate 21 are fed by a feeding roller 5, small projections 19a are provided for side guides 19 restricting the right and left end sections of the width direction of each sheet P. The provision of the aforesaid projections 19a enables the right and left and sections of each sheet P to be restricted, so that each sheet P is prevented from being obliquely fed even if each sheet is subjected to any force promoting oblique feeding.
