<p>PURPOSE:To separate and remove the indium and other impurities contained in a gallium electrolyte by electrolyzing the electrolyte at a specified current density. CONSTITUTION:A gallium electrolyte 7 contg. impurities of indium, copper, lead, etc., is electrolyzed while keeping the current density of the cathode at 0.05-0.1A/dm<2>. The impurities of indium, copper, lead, etc., are electrodeposited 8 on the cathode side, separated and removed. Consequently, an electrolyte having low contents of impurities such as indium, copper and lead is obtained with an extremely small loss of gallium.</p> |
