PRODUCTION OF CARBOXYLIC ACID ESTER

PURPOSE:To provide a process for the hydroesterification of an olefin to produce the corresponding carboxylic acid ester by recovering and recycling the catalyst in high efficiency while suppressing the deterioration of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A carboxylic acid ester is produced by reacting an olefin with carbon monoxide and an alcohol in the presence of a metal carbonyl complex catalyst. The reaction is carried out by using at least an aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. benzene or toluene) as the reaction solvent.
