FORMING METHOD OF BENT AND CONTACT-BONDED PART AT PERIPHERAL EDGE OF CEILING MATERIAL FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a bent and contact-bonded part at the peripheral edge of a ceiling material with excellent operability while reducing the cost of manufacture, by bending a material in the shape of a turnup with a core material inside and by contact-bonding a bent part thus formed to the base part of the ceiling material by a denatured polyolefin molten material. CONSTITUTION:A front part 7a and a rear part 7b being heated are bent in the shape of a turnup with a core material inside by using a pair of machining implements 9 for bending. Each of the machining implements 9 for bending has a recessed groove part 9a having a virtually U-shaped cross section in the fore end and the recessed groove part of the machining implement on one side is shaped along the front part of the ceiling material, while the recessed groove part of the other machining implement is shaped along the rear part of the ceiling material. The ceiling material is bent by disposing the front part 7a and the rear part 7b of the ceiling material 7 in the recessed groove parts of these machining implements 9 respectively and by pressing the machining implements 9 against the ceiling material 7 by air cylinders.
