PURPOSE:To easily perform color conversion with high accuracy by finding the values of cyan, magenta, and yellow which comprise process black in accordance with pure black printed in a supplied single color of Japanese ink K, and generating the chromiance signals of prescribed color specification system from the values of cyan C, yellow Y, and magenta M. CONSTITUTION:A control means 21 is equipped with a relation between the pure black and the process black shown in figure as a table, and finds the values of C, M, Y, and K from a color number when it is is designated by a user, thence, finds Kc, Km, and Ky in accordance with the value of K shown in figure, and converts them to the chro-minance signals of R, G, and B by equations I, II, and III. R, G, and B are supplied to a display means 22, or is transferred to a color printer 25 via a printer I/F 24. Also, when the color printer 25 is set so as to input a L*a*b* signal, the signals R, G, and B can be converted to the L*a*b* signals at the printer I/F 24. |
