发明名称 SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD TO HYDROGEN STORAGE ALLOY ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a secondary battery of a high reliability which can be quickly charged without abnormal increase of a battery inner pressure by blowing steam to which organic substance as dissolving accelerating agent is added to a hydrogen storage alloy electrode to dissolve and eliminate a film of binding agent on a surface. CONSTITUTION:Mix of Mm (mesh metal), Ni, Co, Al, Mn at a mol ratio of 1:3.2:1:0.6:0.2 is dissolved in a high frequency furnace in an inert gas atmosphere, and it is cooled and hardened in a single roll method to provide a block of hydrogen storage alloy of a composition ratio of MnNi3.2CoMn0.6Al0.2. This alloy is crushed to be powders of an average grain size of 50 m. These powders by 100wt.% are kneaded with added binding agent of polyethylene oxide (PEO) by 1wt.% to form alloy paste. This paste is applied on both surfaces of a negative electrode collector comprising punching metal of Ni to form a hydrogen storage alloy electrode (negative electrode). Steam to which ethanol by 5wt.% is added is blown to its surface for dissolving and eliminating PEO on the surface, thereby a surface-processed electrode is provided.
