PURPOSE:To provide a character processor which improves the efficiency of the registration, deletion, etc., of information to be cached and reduces the processing time for them. CONSTITUTION:Cache control information showing priority at the time of caching, is imparted to character pattern data in a storage means 11 and a cache control means 15 decides whether or not the data are stored in a cache means 16 based on the cache control information. Further, a control information storage means which stores the cache control information showing the priority at the time of the caching corresponding to the attributes of characters and an update means which updates the cache control information corresponding to the attribute of a requested character are provided, and the cache control means judges whether or not the data are stored in the cache means based on the cache control information. Further, initialization can be performed with the cache control information indication the priority at the time of the caching or the character pattern data can be used as outline font data. |
