WATER-REPELLING BABY CREAM

A baby cream for protecting the skin against humidity in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion contains as water-repelling emulsifying component an oil-soluble copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and a liphilic comonomer with an olefinic double bond and a linear alkyl group with 8 to 34 C atoms having 5,000 to 25,000 means molecular weight. As further emulsifying components polyglycerine fatty acid esters or oxethylates of ricinoleic acid or hydroxystearinic acid triglyceride are particularly preferred. Zinc oxide, which is water-repelling and skin-protecting but cosmetically unsatisfactory, may be replaced by these components.
