A shoot bolt mechanism comprises a handle 10 mechanism and a pair of shoot bolts 56 that engage in keepers 75 that can be mounted on the face of the frame of a door or window to overlie the door or window. This makes them easy to fit after the door or window has been installed. The handle mechanism includes drive members which, on rotation of the handle, extend and retract the shoot bolts by a drive transfer member incorporating two sets of pins that allow the hand of the handle mechanism to be readily altered. The handle incorporates a trigger with a peg that can engage in a number of angularly spaced holes on the base to locate the handle relative to the base in various angularly spaced dispositions. <IMAGE> |
