FUEL LINE ADAPTER FOR PORTABLE FUEL CONTAINERS

The present invention provides a safe means of supplying gasoline or other liquid petroleum fuels, from a portable fuel container, such as a gerry can or other refillable and portable fuel can or container, to an internal combustion engine. The preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a disc-shaped adapter of appropriate diameter and design to sealably replace existing caps or sealing discs. Said adapter further comprises a length of tubing or hose extending to the bottom of the fuel can and to one integrally affixed or molded component of a quick disconnect fuel line coupling device. A preferred application for the said adapter is for use in small outboard engine powered boats, so as to prevent or avoid fuel spillage when refilling the regular or main fuel supply tank, whereby the standard or existing fuel line is designed to be disconnected from the main supply tank for purposes of refilling by means of a quick disconnect type of fuel line connector which can be alternately connected to a portable fuel container without risk of spillage or danger to persons, property or waterways due to spillage or risk of fire.
