The invention relates to a container for collecting objects. The container is provided with upright walls, with a top wall and with a base which surrounds at least one closable removal opening. A number of filling openings which are located at a distance from one another are arranged in the top wall of the container, in order for the objects which are to be collected to be thrown into the container. At least one separating member which divides the interior of the container into separate compartments is arranged between the top wall and the base, which separating member is at least partially movable in a direction which runs approximately transversely with respect to the vertical direction, while at least one filling opening and at least one closable removal opening are arranged on either side of the separating member.
