The plug has a housing (1) with a connection nipple (2) incorporating a fuel dosing device, a pre-heating zone (8) within the housing provided by a heating rod (3) enclosed by a protective sleeve (4). This is closed around the end of the heating rod, with a side flame exit opening (6), axially spaced from an air inlet (7) for providing the combustion air mixed with the vaporised fuel.Pref. the housing has an internal screw thread in the fuel vaporisation zone (8), the heating rod being ribbed within the fuel mixing zone (9).
