<p>A transmit/receive element has a transmit/receive circuit (20) that includes a variable frequency transmit phase lock loop (21, 25, 29, 23) and a variable frequency receive phase lock loop (121, 125, 129, 123), and an output amplifier (11) that receives a modulated transmit signal from the transmit phase lock loop (21, 25, 29, 23) for driving an antenna element (15). The transmit phase lock loop (21, 25, 29, 23) receives a feedback signal which is (a) the demodulated transmit signal during receive intervals and (b) the output of the output amplifier (11) during transmit intervals, such that the transmit phase lock loop (21, 25, 29, 23) is controlled by a feedback signal at all times. <IMAGE></p> |
