PURPOSE:To obtain a cushioning material assembled to a desired shape as a whole by fitting a plurality of projections of the saw shape on one piece into hollows corresponding thereto on another piece placed facing each other. CONSTITUTION:A cushioning material of foamed plastic can be formed in the shape of letters L, T, or X by fitting together two pieces of rectangular parallelepiped or substantially rectangular parallelepiped in a manner that a plurality of projections 3 of the same shape on one face are fitted into hollows 4 corresponding thereto on the opposite face. Thus pieces of cushioning material can be laid one on another by laying one piece upon another a cushioning material having a desirable shape as a whole can be assembled for an object for packing. By forming a base 2 of cushioning material having the same projections in a large number as the projections 3 on a unit cushioner 1A and by fitting another cushioning unit 1A or more on the projections an assembly of cushioning material having a shape fitting the shape of the surface of an object for packing as a whole can be formed as desired. |
