PURPOSE:To selectively execute a microprogram by providing plural test patterns for diagnosing a main storage device at the microprogram inside a central processing unit (CPU) concerning an information processing system equipped with the duplex CPU and the main storage device. CONSTITUTION:The plural test patterns are previously set to a microprogram 5 provided at an auxilmary system CPU 2 and when the test pattern set corresponding to customer conditions or MM capacity is inputted from a maintenance person by a maintenance console 4, the microprogram 5 provided at the auxiliary system CPU 2 is activated by a test pattern activating means 6 of a present system CPU 1. The correspondent test pattern is selected corresponding to the address by a vector table previously set to the microprogram 5, the diagnosis of a main storage device 3 as the object of diagnosis is started, when the diagnosis is completed, the executed result is received by the present system CPU 1, and the executed result is displayed at the maintenance console 4 by an executed result display means 7. |
