PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for newly providing newly a stirring mechanism, to increase the electric charge by sufficiently allowing a developer recovered by a cleaning device to be triboelectrified and to obtain a satisfactory image free from staining of a surface, scattering of a developer, etc. CONSTITUTION:The paddle wheel 17 of a development unit 121 and the cleaning device 15 are connected with a pipe 19 as a developer passage used for returning toner removed by the cleaner 15 to the development unit 121. A screw for carrying the toner to the development unit 121 is provided in the pipe 19. An outlet through which toner flows out, is made in the periphery of the hollow cylindrical member of the paddle wheel 17. In the outlet, the area of the hole is increased from the upstream to the downstream side in the direction in which the toner is carried. They are arranged spirally around the periphery of the hollow cylindrical member. |
