OPTICAL SWITCH AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE: To stabilize an operation by reflecting light from the face of a fiber detached from one mirror and changing the direction of light. CONSTITUTION: A silicon substrate 10 is etched to form the mirrors 16a and 16b. Lenses 14a and 14b effectively connect light to a space optical modulator SLM 18 having a reflective member 20 controlled from the input fiber 12 and to the output fiber 12a from the member 20. The lenses 14a and 14b are generated by pawing or etching, for example. They are fitted in right places in grooves 15a and 15b in appropriate sizes by glue. Light is positioned and it transmits through a device through the fiber 12b which can be held. The light is converged on the mirror 16b etched by the micro lens 14b. Light is reflected from the mirror 16b on LSM18.
