The battery box is mounted on the chassis behind the front axle and behind the engine unit. The box itself forms part of the airway, or at least one of its vertical walls forms part of the airway. The cover of the battery box is hinged near one edge (8) and swing aside for access to the battery and to the air filter.The snorkel part of the air intake is formed by the pivot mounted battery box cover and includes a water separating bulkhead. The snorkel also has air baffles and sound deadening filling.
