BORING TOOL

A boring tool comprises a circumferential tool body, a tool slide movable transversely therein, a cutting plate fitted on the tool slide and a micrometer screw fitted so as to rotate transversely to the axis of the boring tool and axially fixed, for adjusting the tool slide. The micrometer screw is fitted in the tool body at a distance from the slide and actuates a drive slide movable transversely to its axis of rotation. In the space between the drive and tool slides there is a pivoting transmission lever, one arm of which engages in the drive slive and the other in the tool slide so that, when the drive slide is moved, the tool slide also moves in the opposite direction. The dimensions of the drive and tool slides are such that the entire arrangement of drive and tool slides is always counterbalanced in relation to the axis of rotation during their opposite movements.
