An hermetically sealed watch casing comprises the glass (1) and cover (2) held together by means of clamps (4) which form the projections for attachment to the watch bracelet; each clamp (4) comprises two arms (5, 5<1>) and a central lug (6) which are directed towards the central part of the casing, one arm (5) engaging with the glass (1), the other with the cover (2), while the central lug (6) engages in a recess (8) formed where the cover (2) and glass (1) are joined together. The structure is strengthened by means of reinforcing elements arranged in such a way that they exert a force at an angle of 0 < alpha </= 90 DEG to the direction of tension in the bracelet. The reinforcing elements may be screws, pins (9) or studs arranged perpendicularly to the plane of the watch casing. The reinforcing elements may also take the form of extensions of the central lug of the clamp and form a spring bracket whose ends exert an outward pressure and which is forced into a hollow in the recess. |
