Prevention of infection and stabilising of ion exchange bed

To prevent infection and stabilise the ion exchange bed in water processing plants, when the water inflow is interrupted to all the processing stages, the remaining water is recirculated in an intense flow pattern while the water inlets and outlets are closed and the recirculation is in the working direction of the feed water flow path. The loose structure of the ion exchange resin is maintained in the floating solid bed condition and, at the same time, the recirculating residual water is subjected to a constant UV radiation.Flow speed in the ion exchanger is set at least at 7.5-20.0 m/h, and pref. 10 m/h. The residual water is subjected repeatedly to UV radiation, and it is filtered repeatedly.
