GRAPHITE OVEN FOR THERMOELECTRICALLY ATOMISING ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY SAMPLES

A graphite oven for thermoelectrically atomising atomic absorption spectroscopy samples has a tubular oven body (12) with a bore whose cross-section is reduced at its ends and which may be heated by an electric current flowing in its circumferential direction transversely to the length of the bore. Lateral contact projections (14, 16) integrally formed on the oven body (12) extend over the whole length of the oven body (12). In the area of the reduced cross-section of the bore, the cross-section of the contact projections (14, 16) through which the current can flow is enlarged in order to allow the graphite oven to be uniformly heated.
