METHOD OF PREPARING IODOALKINYL CARBAMATES

The invention concerns iodoalkinyl carbamates of general formula (I) I-C = C-C(R<1>R<2>)-O-[C(R<3>R<4>)-C(R<5>R<6>)-O]n-CONHR<7>, in which R<1> and R<2>, independently of each other, are hydrogen or straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl groups with 1 to 6 C-atoms; R<3> to R<6>, independently of each other, are hydrogen or straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl groups with 1 to 4 C-atoms; R<7> is hydrogen, a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group with 1 to 12 C-atoms, a cyclohexyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, a benzyl group or a p-toluenesulphonyl group and n is 0 or 1. Such carbamates are obtained in high yields and in pale-colour quality, without the need for additional purification procedures, by reacting the appropriate alkinyl alcohol with the appropriate isocyanate to give a carbamate. The carbamate produced is subsequently iodinated, the alkaline reaction mixture neutralized with carbon dioxide and the iodoalkinyl carbamate filtered off.
