The system consists of a treatment unit (2) to receive the wine from a bottle (1). The unit contains an inert atmosphere, and an inert gas is fed into the bottle as the wine is extracted from it, so that the wine is kept away from contact with the air. The inert gas is fed into the bottom of the bottle through one tube (18) as the wine is poured out through a second tube (9), and the bottle is emptied by gravity, using a mechanism (13-15) to tip it over. The two tubes are sealed relative to the top of the bottle by means of a holder (11,12,17), connected to the inverting mechanism, which has a cranked handle (15). USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows wine to be removed from its bottle and treated for removal of deposits without causing its quality to deteriorate.
