The corrugated plate forms a heat-exchanger element. Locking members (26) protruding to one side are formed on the ridges (15,17), and engage in mating ones (27) in the valleys (16,18) of the adjacent plate. They can be formed respectively by mushroom-headed protrusions and mating holes, the plates being parallel. The protrusions and holes can be at regular intervals along the ridges and valleys. The plates can be resilient at the holes at least, being typically of plastic sheet roughly 0.4 mm. thick. ADVANTAGE - Low freight cost.
