In a control arrangement for a variable electrical coupling CL, between a motor M and a load L, the speed of the load is regulated by a field winding FC which is in the emittercollector circuit of a transistor T1 having a speed dependent signal from a tachometer alternator G and a speed reference signal applied to its base emitter circuit. The output of the alternator is rectified to develop a direct voltage across resistor 17 in opposition to the reference voltage tapped off from battery 5 by potentiometer P1. A modification described with reference to Fig. 2 (not shown) includes a further stage of transistor amplification; and a still further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), includes a current transformer in the motor feed which is arranged to provide, through a transistor amplifier, a regulable torque limit. |
