PURPOSE:To simultaneously operate a bootstrap to plural diskless computers without increasing a network traffic by simultaneously supplying bootstrap data to the plural computers after a prescribed time at the time of receiving the request of the bootstrap data. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is turned on, each diskless computer 11a, 11b,...11n reads bootstrap data request program data from an ROM, and issues the bootstrap data request through a network 3 to a file server 10 by the read bootstrap data request program shown by arrows r1 and r2. The file server 10 detects the bootstrap data request through the network 3 from the diskless computers 11a, 11b,...11n, and supplies the bootstrap data through the network 3 to each disk less computer 11a, 11b,... 11n in the form of a broadcast packet.
