PURPOSE:To provide the subject new compound having antioxidant activity, useful for the treatment of encephalopathy, cardiopathy, hepatopathy, arteriosclerosis, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of the formula (R is isopropyl, n-propyl or see-butyl). The compound of the formula (where, R is isopropy) has the following physicochemical characteristics: (1) elemental analysis(%): C: 77.59, H: 7.49, N: 4.45; (2) mass spectroscopy (high resolution FAB-MS: m/z: 310, 1807; (3) molecular weight: 309; (4) melting point: 196-197 deg.C; (5) specific rotatory power: immeasurable; (6) solubility: readily soluble in DMSO, DMF, soluble in MeOH, EtOH, CHCl3, EtOAc, sparingly soluble n-hexane, water; (7) color reaction: positive to sulfuric acid, iodine; (8) acidity or alkalinity: neutral, etc. The compound of the formula can be obtained by culture of Streptomyces violaceus 2448-SVT2 (FERM P-13299) strain under aerobic conditions at pH6 to 7 at 24-27 deg.C for 2 to 3 days. |
