PURPOSE:To provide a printing apparatus capable of selecting and conducting a desired testing mode from a plurality of testing modes with a simple operation while having a consideration for not coming into the testing mode undesirably and, moreover, capable of restricting an operator who can operate this with respect to a specific testing mode. CONSTITUTION:When the electric source of a printing apparatus is put in the form of a 'test key' pressed down (S1, S2), it is advanced to the processing routine of a testing mode and, at first, 0 is housed in a constant N for storing the order of the testing mode (S5), and further advanced to a (test indicating mode SUB routine) (S7). By operating a Key of upper directed triangle, a key of lower directed triangle key and a 'set' key, a desired testing mode is selected from a plurality of testing modes, and thereafter testing mode is carried out through the (testing mode SUB routine) (S21). |
