PERFORATING GUN DETONATOR PACKAGE INCORPORATING EXPLODING FOIL

This disclosure is directed to a perforating gun assembly. It incorporates an elongate body which supports a capacitive discharge firing unit having the form of an elongate cylinder terminating at the lower end with a feedthrough. The feedthrough, protected by a resilient boot, connects with a very short coaxial cable stored in a chamber. At the bottom of the chamber, the coaxial cable connects with a detonator head. It is an elongate cylindrical structure. It encloses and protectively houses the end of a detonating cord. On the interior, it supports an electric pulse initiated flying disk detonator mechanism. The structure is constructed to suppress inductance in the firing circuit from the capacitive firing unit so that appropriate firing pulse rise time and current magnitude can be achieved.
