<p>PURPOSE:To suppress picture quality deterioration of a reproduced picture to be within a small range by converging coding data and decoding data respec tively within thrice when coding and decoding are repeated to the same picture data. CONSTITUTION:When coding and decoding are repeated for the same picture data, the data are converged by 3rd coding. Thus, coding data 24a, 24b, decoding picture data 25a, 25b, a converted coding data 26 and converged decoding picture 27 are produced. Thus, when data are once converged, further deterioration is not caused even repetition of coding and decoding and after the convergence, the coding system is equivalent substantially to the reversible coding system. When a picture is rotated left by 90 deg. in the coding state and coding data are written in a memory 6, the sequence differs from the input sequence and the data is rearranged to be that including 90 deg. left rotation edit, and the processing is similar in the case of right rotation or vertical inversion, Thus, the same reproduction picture quality is obtained as the original picture.</p> |
