The device has a spring clip (1) with support section (12), and with a stop section (14), which extends away from the rail towards the anchor part (2). The stop section is at a distance (20) to a stop (7,6), when the clip is in normal operational position. The active spring length of the clip between support and stop sections, is shorter than the active length when in normal position, in which the stop section is at a distance to the stop. The stop is formed by a part (7) of the clip, which projects from a pref. circular opening (15) of the anchor part. USE/ADVANTAGE - Railway rail fastening device with overload protection.
