Stretch roller unit used in drop forging - has automatic clamping and release action on tool packet for rapid and automatic tool exchange

The stretch roller train has an upper and lower roller in which stretch roller tools are assembled in packets in release mountings. An automatic clamping and release action is provided for the tool packet (12) at the rollers (6). Each tool packet (12) has at least one intermediate insert (14) placed in between with a coupling section. A manipulator is at the holder arm for the tool packet (12) at the tool exchange system. The holder arm is attached to the insert (14), by a release mounting, at the tool packet (12). A laying bracket for at least two pairs of tool packets (12), forms a unit at a gap from the upper and lower rollers (6). The manipulator can move between the rollers (6) and the laying bracket. Pref., the tool packet (12), the upper roller (6) and the lower roller are gripped at the same time by the holding arm of the manipulator, to be held together and laid. The laying bracket has two adjacent roller-type tool lays resembling upper and lower rollers where they can be clamped and unclamped automatically. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is for preshaping by rolling for drop forging of preforgings. The tool change action is automatic, rapid and accurate.
