摘要 The double-pile fabric, to be sepd. into strips, has thermoplastic fibres (9) to form the adhering intersection points along selected cutting lines generally along the line of the warps. They have a different melting point from the synthetic fibres for the warps and wefts forming the upper and lower fabric layers. They are inserted into a distributed number of sheds (7) in the upper (2) and lower (3) fabric layers together with at least one yarn (8) of synthetic fibres. At least one shed contg. no thermoplastic fibres is between two sheds (7) carrying thermoplastic fibre material. The pile yarns (4), joining the upper and lower layers (2,3) together, pref. pass round at least one weft (6) together with thermoplastic fibres (9) at their bonding points in the two layers (2,3). Warps of thermoplastic fibres (9) can pref. also be used together with at least one synthetic fibre warp of a different melting point. The warp or wefts (8) of synthetic fibres have a different thickness from the main warps (5) and wefts (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - The double-pile fabric is for use in strips as a composite material, such as 5-150 cm wide, for winding in the prodn. of plastics hollow bodies such as tanks. The material is sepd. into strips with less fraying of the edges.
