<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an exhaust emission control device of a diesel engine which can reduce the power consumption and can improve the purification rate further. CONSTITUTION:By applying the theory of electric dust collection, the diesel particulates included in the exhaust gas are separated from the exhaust gas. A high voltage power source 6 applies specific voltages between a discharge electrode couple 23 and 53, and between a collecting electrode couple 24 and 54 respectively, and the discharge electrode couple 23 and 53 discharge in the exhaust gas exhausted from the diesel engine for vehicle, so as to charge the diesel particulates in the exhaust gas. To the collecting electrode couple 24 and 54 provided at the downstream side of the discharge electrode couple, a DC voltage generating no corona discharge in a normal operating condition is applied, and the charged diesel particulates are adsorbed to one side of the collecting electrode couple, by an electric field between the collecting electrode couple.</p> |
