ORAL COMPOSITIONS

Oral compositions possessing antiplaque and antigingivitis properties containing stannous fluoride stabilized with stannous gluconate are described herein. The composition contains: (a) a safe and effective amount of stannous fluoride; (b) a safe and effective amount of stannous gluconate; and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier wherein the pH of said composition is from about 3.0 to about 5.0 and said composition is substantially free of a calcium ion source(s).
