PURPOSE:To easily judge whether or not a waveform can be stored in a sound signal input type waveform storing and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:While a sound signal inputted from an input terminal 30 is converted by an A/D converting circuit 54 into waveform data TWD, a level detecting circuit 40 detects the level of the input sound signal rising above a specific value and an address counter 16A is put in operation according to its detection signal to write the waveform data TWD in a storage area M1 of the waveform memory 10. The detecting circuit 40 detects the level of the input sound signal decreasing below a specific value and the operation of the counter 16A is stopped according to the detection signal to stop the writing. An address display unit 24 displays an end address at the time of stop of the writing on the basis of address data WAD of the counter 16A. Then the amount of waveform data regarding the writing can be known from the displayed end address. |
