PURPOSE: To extract an optical signal from the bending part of an optical fiber without peeling off a buffer material. CONSTITUTION: A device for extracting the optical signal of a desired rate from the optical fiber 42 has the buffer material formed by a core, a jacket surrounding the core and a material which surrounds the jacket and makes at least a part of the optical signal transmitted by the optical fiber pass through. A bending means 13 bending the intermediate part of the optical fiber 42 at a bending radius by which the signal of the desired rate in the optical fiber is extracted from the optical fiber 42, a coupling means 34 which is an optical coupling means that is applied to the bending medium part of the optical fiber 42 and brings adaptability with the buffer member and which is correlated with the bending radius so that the optical signal of the desired rate is extracted through the jacket, the buffer member and the coupling means, and a detection means 38 for detecting the optical signal extracted by a communication equipment are provided. |
