PURPOSE:To produce hydroquinones at a low reactional temperature in high yield and simple post treatment. CONSTITUTION:In a method for obtaining alkyl-substituted hydroquinones by reaction of an unsubstituted or a mono-substituted hydroquinone with an alpha-olefin using a strong acidic ion exchange resin as an acid catalyst, the reaction is carried out in an aprotic organic solvent. |
