PURPOSE:To attain the effects of decreasing catalyst volume, making the carrier light in weight and low in pressure loss by laminating the plural numbers of a laminated corrugate body made of an inorganic fiber sheet in an air-flow direction to integrate and arranging so that the cell walls of the adjacent laminated corrugate bodies are not aligned with each other. CONSTITUTION:The laminated corrugate catalyst carrier is constituted by laminating the plural numbers of the laminated corrugate body 1 made of the inorganic fiber sheet along an air-flow direction to integrate and arranging so that the cell walls made by the center cores 2 and liners 3 of the adjacent laminated corrugate bodies 1, 1 are not aligned with each other. As a result, as the cell walls 2, 3 of each laminated corrugate body 1 are not aligned with each other, vortex flow is produced as shown by the arrow at the joining part of the laminated corrugate body 1 to accelerate the diffusion of a reaction gas when the reaction gas passes through the laminated corrugate catalyst carrier. Thus, vapor phase reaction is effectively executed on the whole surface of the catalyst because of acceleration of the diffusion of the reaction gas. |
