ABS system for 6-wheeled rear-wheel-drive vehicle - has speed detectors on, and brake pressure control for, all six wheels

The ABS system is for the vehicle where the rearmost rear axle carries non-driven wheels. There is a first control unit for the brake pressure to the front wheels, a second and third one for each driven wheel of the first rear axle, plus a detector for the speed of each of these first four wheels. A fourth unit controls the brake pressure on the final non-driven wheels and detectors also evaluate their speeds. A metering valve evaluates the instantaneous vehicle load and sets a pressure value which the brake pressure to the non-driven wheels must not exceed. When skidding is detected at any wheel, the ABS function comes into play. ADVANTAGE - Inexpensive development of existing ABS systems.
