PURPOSE:To lower hydrogen balance pressure in a high temperature condition (for example, approximately 80 deg.C) and improve discharge characteristics without any loss of high capacity at that process by reducing a nickel amount in a Zr-Mn-V-Mo-Cr-Ni hydrogen storage alloy composition. CONSTITUTION:This electrode is composed of a hydrogen storage alloy or the hydrogen compound thereof expressed by a general formula of ZrMnwVbMoxCryNiz, where 0.5<w<=0.8, 0<b<0.3, 0<x<0.3, 0<y<=0.2, 8<=z<1.2, 0.1<=(b+x)<=0.3, and 2.0<=(w+b+x+y+z)<=2.4, and having a C15 (MgCu2) type Laves phase of an alloy phase main component and the crystal lattice constant (a) thereof in the range of 7.05Angstrom <=a<=7.13Angstrom . The alloy after manufactured is subjected to homogenizing heat treatment, and immersed in an alkaline solution after crushed. |
