<p>PURPOSE:To provide the monitor equipment by which picture information of a monitor object area is compressed and only minimum required compression picture information is efficiently sent to a remote monitor station. CONSTITUTION:The monitor equipment provided with an image pickup means 1 picking up a monitor object area, a picture compression means 4 compressing picture information obtained from the image pickup means 1, and a transmission means 8 sending compressed picture information compressed by the picture compression means 4 is provided with a state change detection means 6 detecting a state change in the monitor object area, and with a start means 7 starting the transmission means 8 attended with the detection of the state change by the state change detection means 6. Furthermore, an FIFO compression picture storage means 5 storing a prescribed number of sets of the compressed picture information obtained for each prescribed period is provided and the transmission means 8 reads the prescribed number of sets of compressed picture information before and after a point of time when the state change is detected from the compression picture storage means 5 and sends the information.</p> |
