Boiler intended for the burning of solid fuels, such as low-grade coals, forest waste and other types of waste materials. Given the high level of volatile materials contained in these products, combustion must be carefully controlled in order to ensure that the combustion temperature does not exceed 800 degree C, so as to minimize the formation of pollutants such as NOx, to maximize SO2 retention and to minimize sinterization or fusion of ashes. It consists essentially of an air box and ventilator (fan) 1, an air distributor 2 with inclined sides, a combustion chamber 3, fuel-storage silos and respective supply system, secondary air-introduction system, start-up ignition system, ash-extraction system 7, limestone-storage silos, combustion-gas outlet and cyclone system for removing particles 9, control systems for automatic operation of the reactor and water/vapour system for the boiler 11.
