PURPOSE:To allow accurate temperature protection of motor at low cost without requiring any temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION:A comparing/deciding section 34 compares a motor winding temperature T1 operated at a temperature conversion operating section 32 based on motor parameters (motor current, motor voltage, and motor speed) with a motor temperature T2 estimated at a motor heat model 35 based on motor current and motor speed to produce an observer estimated deviation epsilon. When the deviation epsilon exceeds a predetermined threshold level, a decision is made for predicting failure to produce a motor temperature protective signal. |
